UPCE On Air: Why does the forest make us feel better?
🌲 Just twenty minutes in the forest is enough and the body begins to respond. Stress is reduced, mood improves and, according to research, immunity is also strengthened with a longer stay. Forest medicine, shinrin-yoku and so-called forest bathing are discussed in a new episode of the UPCE On Air podcast by Professor Qing Li from Japan, who recently visited the University of Pardubice.
🧬 Professor Qing Li is one of the pioneers of the field that connects nature, medicine and science. For decades, he has been researching what happens in our bodies when we are in the forest, why the smell of trees affects the immune system and how an ordinary slow walk can prevent stress and civilization diseases.
🎧 According to Professor Li, forest bathing is not about sports or hiking. The key is to slow down, engage all five senses and reconnect with nature.
