From the early days of the insurgence of civil war in Syria, many Europeans decided to join the so-called Islamic state in its fight. How many people from Europe were recruited by the “caliphate” and where are they now? Why is it crucial for European countries to take the responsibility and assure the repatriation of its citizen? And how can the returnees be prosecuted in its home country? These questions will be discussed with Asya Metodieva, Research Fellow at IIR Prague.
