Dr György Széll is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Osnabrück where he held the title of the Dean of the Faculty of Social Studies several times. He also works at the Institute of Economic Studies at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. His work focuses on the relationship between participation and democracy. During the coronavirus pandemic, he contributed with the text called: "Covid-19 and Democracy" to the collection "Reflections during the Pandemic" published by the International Sociological Association.
