HORIZONS SEFO Triennial 2024: Landscape as a document (episode 3)
02.12.2024
A human's relationship to the landscape in which they live is highly individual. To read it more carefully, we need to give it enough time, then we will find that many of the things we perceive automatically hold some interesting information. What can plants such as periwinkles or the materials that form urban buildings tell us about the landscape? Continuously, landscape also appears as part of artworks. However, unlike in the past, artists today experience the landscape for themselves. They use a variety of techniques to explore the ways in which we relate to the places where we live and to record the impact we have on the landscape and our environment. The SEFO Triennial features more works analysing landscape and nature, and we have chosen two artists and two approaches for this podcast episode - Austrian artist Andreas Fogarasi works with urban landscapes and Polish artist Karolina Grzywnowicz with plants as an archive of events. Both artists shared with us not only explanations of their artistic approaches, but also about the projects presented at this year's triennial.
