He captured a photon and let it fly around in a box into which he sent some atoms, then he asked the atoms what could they tell him about the photon – Serge Haroche, laureate of the 2012 Nobel prize in physics. He invented new methods that enable the measurement and manipulation of individual quantum systems, what is their potential use?
